Lynn and Jerry, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia USA, generously volunteered their home, financial support, food, energy, and time personally assisting hundreds of men and women throughout their life transitions in the 1980's and 1990's.

It was not uncommon to have them provide free long term shelter, support, and meals to a dozen or more transitioning pre-op transsexual women and men, at their always welcoming, small suburban home in Decatur, Georgia. They are truly two of the greatest unsung hero's of the southern United States transsexual community.

They have freely assisted more transitioning transsexual women and men than anyone can count. Lynn and Jerry truly deserve much happiness, if only because they have been responsible for so much happiness around them. They will always have my heartfelt support, love, and my affection.

Lynn and Jerry closed their legendary - Decatur, Georgia based "Montgomery Medical & Psychological Institute, Inc" in the late 1990's. Lynn passed away on June 4th, 2009. Jerry remains active while semi-retired in the southern United States.

Jerry & Lynn are two, honest-to-goodness, authentic "real angels" on this Earth. Words alone can not express my heartfelt gratitude for their positive influence and supportive encouragement in my lifetime. I love you, Lynn & Jerry. - Mrs. KAREN SERENITY

Maxwell Anderson, Ph.D. was a pioneer and forerunner for the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Queer, and Transgender community, being an activist for mental and transgender health issues.

Dr. Anderson earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University, along with his Masters and Ph.D. in Psychology.

His activities also included The Southern Comfort Conference for over 20 years. He had been currently writing his biography and producing a new documentary "Southern Comforted," that would help transitioning persons bridge the gaps between the health care they needed and not settling for second best. This was his life’s passion and his work will live on thru the people he entrusted the most to carry the message. He was also a public speaker regarding transgendered issues and health care.

On January 14th, 2010 at 3:10 p.m., Dr. Maxwell Scott Anderson was called home to God’s glory in a peaceful rest. He was a native of Chicago, Illinois; moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and then to Atlanta, Georgia where he called home for 20 plus years.

Dr. Maxwell is survived by his mother Dorothy Anderson of Red Granite, Wisconsin, his loving and devoted sister, Susie Anderson of Chicago, Illinois, Linda Davidenko (Albert), and Alvin Anderson (Sassy) of Red Granite, Wisconsin and many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends who considered him family from an older brother, an uncle, along with being a father figure.

His life passions have won him numerous awards and accolades including Best Picture at the Sundance Film Festival for the documentary Southern Comfort in 2001 and the IFGE Trinity Award. Max’s motto which will ring across the nation and around the world is "No one gets left behind." Max will be truly missed by many friends from coast to coast and around the world.

A Memorial Service by the Estate Trustees, Franky Capobianco and Wes Quesenberry was held at 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 at the First Christian Church of Decatur (Gentle Spirit Christian Church of Atlanta), 601 West Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, Georgia USA. Pastor Paul M. Turnerl officiated.
